modern roof/atelier glazing - ecowise and noble

Once you invest into a large roof glazing, you probably want plenty of light and space, fresh air, pleasant and elegant attic element and full functionality without thermal losses.

1) frames and wings of a roof glazing

Quality and aesthetic properties, as well as finishing of the material used are of key importance. We produce wooden roof glazing and use the best quality wood with the highest coefficient of elasticity: seasoned, dried and beautiful solid pine wood. Our philosophy says that such material cant be compared to aluminium, plastic or trusses glued from small pieces.

The wood is protected against mould and fungi and than provided with primer and a final high-pressure sprayed paint coat of water-dilutable glazing paint.

2) double glazing / thermal transmission

We use double-glazing units by Pilkington, including the patented "self-cleaning" units ActivTM, and frequently also Heat Mirror system (patented double-glazing unit with a third foil layer, performing impressive thermal-transmission coeficient U=0,55).

3) glazing technology

The technology of glazing is together with used double-glazing units the key to low thermal losses of a house. In case of Solara roof glazing, the double-glazing units are together with the wing of the window deeply embedded into the window frame, which - in combination with double-edge sealing - allows us to achieve top quality thermal insulation. That is of key importance not only during winter season, but also in burning summer heats, when the roof coat is loaded enormously. It pays to invest at the beginning.

4) outside lining

The material, its surface and processing, is also important for the outside sheating. We use rolled paint aluminium sheets, with a warranty of 60 years, alternatively copper or titan-zinc. The quality of processing and the outside bordering system of Solara roof windows is 100% reliable.

Customize your interier

We always make ateliers to order. Therefore, it is possible to consider colour designs, various materials of the outside bordering as well as the wood frames. Enjoy the configuration!

Advantages of Solara roof/atelier glazing

  • the frames and wings are made from beautiful, seasoned and dried solid pine wood with perfect finishing,
  • we develop and use simple and efficient control systems; our glazings have "invisible" fittings,
  • openable parts are fully adjustable, i.e. the wing maintains its position at all levels of opening and the opening stiffness is adjustable,
  • transmission of heat of the double-glass units we use reaches the value Ug=1,1W/m2K; on request up to Ug=0,33W/m2K

Opening systems

We provide our roof glazing with centre-pivot openable wings and top-hung openable wings or side-sliding ones. Please check the web ref-project section to compare individual designs.

Where and how glazing will be installed is of fundamental importance: swing wings are opened "at head level" and occupy space in the room when open. If the opening axis is not higher than 2 m above the floor, we recommend using top-hung wings. It pays to consider to what extent we wish to use space under the opening wings and at what height the glazig will be positioned above the floor level.

More information on individual types of roof glazing can be found in the above-indicated menu.

Enjoy your attic lifestyle.
